Role Description Are you a network architecture expert who thrives on designing secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across complex environments? We’re looking for a Senior Network Architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise network architectures. What you'll be doing: - Lead the design and documentation of end‑to‑end network architectures across campus, data centre, WAN, WLAN, and cloud environments. - Produce High Level Design and low level design artefacts, standards, patterns, and reference architectures. - Architect solutions across multi‑vendor technologies including Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto. - Develop secure network architectures incorporating segmentation, firewalling, Zero Trust principles, and best‑practice security controls. - Design and integrate SD‑WAN solutions and collaborate with cloud teams to deliver hybrid and cloud‑connected architectures (Azure/AWS). - Provide technical governance, design assurance, and act as a senior escalation point while supporting vendor selection and mentoring engineers. Qualifications - Strong expertise in Cisco routing, switching, wireless, along with Cisco Meraki and Aruba technologies. - Deep knowledge of Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls and secure network architecture design. - In‑depth understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), QoS, multicast, and network optimisation. - Experience designing SD‑WAN solutions (Cisco SD‑WAN/Viptela, Meraki SD‑WAN, Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN). - Strong knowledge of Azure and AWS networking concepts including VNet, VPC, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Transit Gateway, and hybrid connectivity. - Ability to produce high‑quality architectural artefacts and apply enterprise architecture principles and governance frameworks such as TOGAF. Role Description Zayo is seeking a Network Engineer III - Optical who will be responsible for designing, link engineering and implementing capacity onto the existing DWDM network. The Network Engineer III - Optical is also responsible for effectively communicating with internal order management personnel and various internal teams on the progress of the capacity fulfillment as well as for meeting/exceeding daily and weekly performance targets. - Responsible for design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment throughout the U.S and Canada. - Work with Project Managers and Design and Implementation Engineers when issues arise during capacity projects. - Design DWDM network per Network Architectures standards and future growth of our network and customer base. - Implement circuit designs for the core of the network as needed. - Provide direction in the circuit design function of the Engineering Department for orders with transport and facilities required to meet identified circuit requirements. - Review capacity request for correctness and clarify any design related items back to the responsible departments. - Maintain specific customer commitments and deadlines in the Zayo database. - Provide project status updates on the order when necessary for the project management groups. - Support field operations to resolve provisioning problems; review and verify technical data in an effort to project issues. - Exercise interpersonal skills in working with all internal customers. - Perform other related duties or projects as assigned by management. - May participate in the development and implementation of engineering standards and procedures. - Manage workload to identify critical issues and prioritize those items that must be completed daily. - Work around obstacles and roadblocks within the order flow to obtain the priority required by Zayo to meet required due dates. - Show initiative in getting work done. - Participate in operations-related projects, as needed. - Support manager during customer or network escalations as requested. - Perform other miscellaneous duties, including staying abreast of technology and network solutions and cross training when needed. Qualifications - Ability to meet inflexible deadlines; perform non-predictive multiple tasks; and handle customer conflict to a successful resolution. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Working knowledge of optical systems and signal flow designs through fixed or flex grid networks using ROADM technology. - Experience using Microsoft Office or Google programs and project management software. - Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in controlled situations. - Familiarity with the majority of the following products: - Optical Systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, Nokia - Salesforce, ServiceNow, Sitetracker equivalents - Telecom inventory systems, Metasolv is a bonus - Microsoft Office and Google programs, specifically Visio, Excel or G equivalent Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training and/or experience. - Minimum of 5 (five) years' telecommunications and optical experience.
