Commercial Property Claims Examiner
MDD Forensic Accountants
• Determine, evaluate, investigate, negotiate and resolve large exposure, multi-insurer quota share property claims in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal standards. • Prepare written status and large loss reports for clients, including Reservation of Rights and Coverage Position Letters. • Handle appeals or disputes related to claim decisions. • Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary. • Direct and monitor defense counsel to settle litigated claims. • Provide monetary authority and strategy to counsel to ensure client’s money and claims are protected. • Present and explain claim overviews to business partners. • Participate in audits and quality control reviews. • Stay updated on industry trends, policy changes, and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years related experience and/or training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Property claims investigation techniques and Settlement
- Multi-State adjuster license preferred
- Understand the role of Third-Party Administration in claims management.
- Background in both Excess & Surplus Lines (Lloyds) as well as Standard carrier programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of quota share programs and the effective claims handling involved.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
- Ability to analyze and research legal and claim trends.
- Proactive, independent, dependable, and takes initiative with consistent follow through.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences.
- Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- High level attention to detail with ability to utilize decision making and problem-solving skills.

Responsible for correcting and reworking any order that is unable to be billed or has resulted in a claim denial due to missing or incorrect information.
