Principal Backend Engineer
DATAMAXIS, Inc
• Own end-to-end backend architecture for the AI platform • Architect and evolve AI pipelines • Enhance and harden the unified LLM provider layer • Design the distributed worker system for heavy pipeline execution • Lead the AWS deployment architecture • Define and enforce API design standards • Own the PostgreSQL schema for extraction metadata • Implement secure service-to-service communication • Instrument the platform with structured logging and alarms • Mentor senior engineers and conduct architecture reviews
Job Requirements
- 12+ years of backend engineering experience
- Expert-level Python proficiency
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and async programming
- Proven experience designing and operating microservices
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise
- Hands-on AWS production experience
- Experience integrating LLM APIs in production
- Experience with container-based deployments using Docker
- Strong API lifecycle management skills
- Practical knowledge of distributed system patterns
- Security engineering fundamentals
- Prior experience building developer platforms or AI/ML serving platforms
