Role Description The ideal candidate for the Junior Remote DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role is a recent graduate or an early-career professional with up to 2 years of experience and a strong interest in cloud infrastructure, automation, and system reliability. The candidate will work alongside experienced engineers to build and maintain scalable infrastructure, support CI/CD pipelines, automate operational tasks, and help ensure the reliability and performance of cloud-based services running on AWS. - Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS environments using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, code reviews, and deployments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI. - Develop systems in Python (or Go) to streamline operational tasks and improve system performance. - Work on containerized environments using Docker and orchestrate them with ECS/Fargate. - Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation and deployment best practices. - Ensure high reliability and availability of cloud-based services by implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems with tools like DataDog, Grafana, CloudWatch, and ELK. - Optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime and enhance system scalability. - Design and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical infrastructure. - Improve incident response processes to minimize resolution times and ensure operational excellence. - Integrate security best practices into DevOps workflows, focusing on IAM, encryption, and secure pipelines. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. - Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, or a similar technical role. Internship or academic project experience with AWS or DevOps tools is a plus. - Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerization technologies. - Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for cloud technologies and automation. Requirements - Basic proficiency in Python (Go experience is a plus). - Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda through coursework, internships, or personal projects. - Basic knowledge of Terraform or willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code concepts. - Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or ELK is a plus. - Basic understanding of Docker and containerization concepts. Exposure to Kubernetes is a plus. - Familiarity with Git for source code management and collaboration. - Excellent communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
