Title: Regional Coordinator (part-time) - sex offender community supervision Location: CA - Lancaster Job Description: Liberty Healthcare Corporation operates the ‘California Conditional Release Program,’ a specialized intensive community supervision and treatment program for people adjudicated as “Sexually Violent Predators” and court-ordered to transition from in secure residential treatment in the community. Liberty is now hiring for a part-time ‘Regional Coordinator’ position which is well-suited for an experienced parole, probation, criminal justice, or forensic mental health professional. The responsibilities of this key position will include: - Direct monitoring and supervision of adult sex offenders in the community - Facilitating new client’s transition from secure residential treatment into the community – which includes developing comprehensive supervision plans for new clients and securing suitable housing, health and human services, and financial support - Leading and supervising a team of field-based staff - Collaborating with the program’s leadership team - Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with a multitude of stakeholders – including treatment providers, law enforcement, court officials, state hospital contacts, and government agencies - Completing reports - Remaining on-call 24/7 (Monday through Friday) and responding promptly to emergencies This is a virtual position which will require you to travel regularly throughout the region and work partially from your home office. Because Liberty’s monitoring services are 24/7, 365 – the work schedule will be flexible, but highly variable and unpredictable. Work hours may range from 20-35 each week. Scope: The Campaign Organizer is responsible for organizing campaigns which win real victories and build the grassroots power to accomplish Sierra Club priorities, which are: to address climate disruption, transform the energy economy, protect communities from pollution, ensure access to the outdoors for all and protect our lands, water and wildlife. The Chapter is a crucial partner for the Campaign Organizer to successfully carry out strategic plans. The Campaign Organizer works closely with chapter(s), volunteers, partners, and staff across the assigned region, while harnessing all of the strategic levers of Sierra Club including legal, communications, digital strategies and subject matter/campaign expertise. The Organizer works on local teams to recruit and train volunteers to fulfill goals and build leadership capabilities. The Organizer represents Sierra Club at community events and with partner organizations, to government officials, the media, business and community leaders, and the public. The Organizer plans and implements tactics to help achieve the assigned regional strategy; the Organizer will do this by fostering volunteer leadership and participation on movement ready teams, builds and recruits for events and actions to accomplish policy priorities, and report on campaign results and effectiveness. Job activities include but are not limited to: - Strategic Campaigns. Participates in the creation of a regional strategy while leading a specific campaign, balancing national and local priorities. Works to incorporate key states and chapter stakeholders, including volunteers, to create and implement a campaign of the overarching strategic plan. With the support of the organizing team, the manager, and Chapter Director, develops individual campaign organizing plans, including organizing tactics. With the support of the manager, ensures that campaigns are rooted in equity and justice and inclusive of frontline and directly impacted communities. - Organizing Implementation. Collaborates with volunteers to implement components of an overarching strategic plan for Sierra Club’s priorities in the assigned states or region. Includes facilitating organizing meetings, volunteer onboarding and integration, and developing and leveraging partnerships. Tracks policy and regulatory proceedings in the assigned region that are relevant to the campaign, identifies opportunities for engagement, mobilization, or intervention. This includes evaluating progress towards goals through data collection and key metrics. - Collaboration. Builds a healthy, mutually accountable relationship with Chapter staff and volunteers to carry out Sierra Club priorities. This position is supported through an issue-restricted source of funding. There is a probability, but not certainty, of renewal of this funding. This position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the contract between Sierra Club and Progressive Workers Union.
