Candidate MUST have experience with government defense buying experience (FAR/DFAR). Job Summary The role performs specialized and diversified procurement functions necessary to supply materials in accordance with FAR and DFAR regulations, as well as Corporate Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities include securing the lowest reasonable prices while ensuring maximum quality and on‑time delivery to support manufacturing operations. This position requires experience in high‑volume defense manufacturing and operates in a hybrid work environment, combining on‑site and remote work with on‑site days determined by business needs and departmental priorities. Responsibilities and Tasks Must have government defense buying experience. Analyze multiple requirements to satisfy the requirements of the requesting program or department and are in the best interest of the company. Place purchase orders as needed. Follow-up on purchase orders, Supplier contracts and material status as required. May assist other individuals in expediting delinquent shipments and resolving other associated problems. May provide work direction to other employees in the department. Resolve Supplier quality issues, purchase order accounting issues and problem receipts. Travel, as required, to meet with Suppliers and other appropriate representatives to discuss and satisfy matters that cannot be taken care of in the plant. May be responsible for determining material requirements from engineering and production schedules and maintaining inventory at appropriate level. Generally, will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions in line with company policies of good, ethical purchasing practices. Prepare management and analysis reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Perform other related duties as necessary to support procurement department. FAR and DFAR regulated purchasing experience, regulatory compliance. Education, Experience, Licenses, Certifications BA/BS in related field or equivalent years of experience within field. 3+ years of experience in related discipline. FAR and DFAR regulated purchasing experience, regulatory compliance. Competency working with MS Excel. Oracle database experience preferred CPIM or CPM preferred within two years of position assignment. Skills and Abilities Thorough understanding of operations principles (JIT, MRP, and TQC) required. Demonstrated experience and successful results in negotiation skills and strategies. May require ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance.
