Role Description As a senior software engineer, you'll be stepping into a small, dynamic team in its scale-up phase. The engineering team is currently ~12 members strong and is led by the organization's CTO. The team allocates cycles to the projects with the largest market opportunity, and engineers move between projects in response to demand, as they share an underlying tech stack. Hiring is underway to accelerate the development of a highly anticipated visual content generation product with a full order book. Key responsibilities - Full stack software engineering: - Design and implement a wide variety of services including APIs, customer-facing dashboards, virtual browser orchestration services, and web scrapers. - System scalability & performance engineering: - Participate in technical design discussions to ensure systems scale effectively as usage volumes and feature complexity grow. - Prompt engineering: - Fine-tune LLM and VLM prompts to generate high quality text and visual content. - Cross-functional collaboration: - Work closely with product designers and customer-facing teams to ensure delivery roadmaps are aligned with market demand and customer feedback. - Continuous learning & adaptability: - Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices; experiment with new approaches to improve efficiency and strengthen the services over time. As a Staff Engineer on our Product & Integrations team, you'll take a leading role in shaping the long-term vision of our integration platform. Role Description We have an immediate opening for an Avionics Engineer with our client in CA who is a leading supplier of space products and has a growing presence in the US Aircraft industry specializing in galleys design, Mechanical Systems, and Freighter conversions in CATIA, also to provide engineering, project development and technical consulting services to the aerospace industry. This is a remote position. Coordinates, manages, oversees and ensures activities related to the success of the avionics engineering group. Facilitates interdepartmental cohesiveness between and including avionics engineering, certification and supply chain; overseeing the activities of other companies, vendors and individuals by performing the following duties: - Design aircraft electrical systems and installations and generate substantiation documents that will be acceptable to the FAA. - Communicate clearly with the engineering team, other GTI departments and vendors as required to facilitate smooth production and substantiation of GTI electrical designs. - Prepare meeting materials and present electrical/avionics status updates, including the status of drawings and substantiation documents, as required to keep all parties informed of progress, gain team consensus and ensure progress is made, overseeing the avionics/electrical package to completion. - Plan and oversee the avionics/electrical drawing and substantiation packages. - Prepare staffing plans, anticipate critical path issues and set a schedule to meet program schedules and budgets. - May use computer-assisted engineering, design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering and a minimum of 15 years industry experience including experience in aircraft avionics design, installation, integration and certification; or a Master's degree (M.S.) or equivalent; and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements - Thorough knowledge of electrical drawing development and substantiation methods. - Detailed knowledge of FAA requirements for substantiation of aircraft electrical systems, and a working knowledge of the joint airworthiness requirements. - Ability to set the quality standard for the GTI Avionics department and put standards and check processes in place. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing tasks while making decisions as to priority of tasks and assignment of team members. - Ability to work constructively with other departments within the company to gain consensus on the best plan of attack on each engineering issue requiring avionics/electrical input. - Strong desire to improve the quality and timeliness of GTI avionics/electrical engineering packages.
