Senior Database Administrator

Integral Federal

The Senior Database Administrator provides database administration for all database systems, both physical and virtual, in Development, Test, Stage, and Production environments across multiple platforms in multiple hosting sites for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Office of Information Technology (OIT). Provide troubleshooting of hardware, software, and applications Support database migrations and consolidations (ad-hoc and scheduled) Support releases and deployments Provide Patch Management Provide Metric Reporting (ad-hoc and scheduled) Proactively assist USCIS in the stewardship of its IT capabilities and assets against any issues (reliability, performance, capacity planning, life-cycle management, etc.) Coordinate and collaborate with individuals, groups, branches, divisions, organizations (both internal and external) to include technical support teams, as required to facilitate changes, updates, hardening, optimization, reporting, consolidation, migrations, troubleshooting, and other events that would be required to keep the systems sound Develop and/or maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all database systems. Automate processes where feasible. Assist end users and DevOps teams in optimizing ad-hoc queries Support Kanban efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar Information Technology Field.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with Oracle systems administration support for large-scale environments, specifically including:
  • 10 years’ experience installing and configuring Oracle databases
  • Working knowledge of advanced Oracle 11 and 12 features such as RAC and Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
  • 10 years’ experience writing scripts with a scripting language
  • Experience with Oracle on VMs
  • Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience on premise to AWS migrations
  • Working knowledge of database backup and restore
  • Secret Clearance
