Role Description Bookit is seeking an SVP of Technology to lead the continued scaling of our Travel and Loyalty platform and our Technology organization. As Bookit's senior technology executive, you will be responsible for the company's engineering organization, information security, IT services, technology strategy, and technical engagement with enterprise customers and partners. This is an Executive leadership role focused on leading our Engineering organization and Strategy through our post fundraising scaling efforts as we seek to bring Bookit’s white-label platform, rewards technology, and experiential commerce offerings to organizations looking to enhance fan/customer engagement, loyalty, memberships, VIP experiences, rewards programs, and commerce initiatives. The ideal candidate understands how to anticipate the needs of a growing technology organization with a keen sense of how to balance engineering optimization and commercial needs. You should be a leader of people who can clearly articulate the company's vision while remaining technically fluent enough to guide architectural decisions and contribute during critical engineering initiatives when needed. You possess exceptional technical and business judgment, with the ability to evaluate when to build, buy, partner, outsource, hire, or leverage AI to achieve the best long-term outcome, and can clearly articulate the trade-offs behind those decisions to fellow executive leaders. What You’ll Do - Lead Bookit's technology organization, including: - Web Applications (Node.js, Typescript, react.js, python) - Client exposed two-way APIs - Mobile SDK platform - Information Security - Security and Technology compliance - IT administration and Service Environment - Information Security Risk Management - Technology Budget - Enterprise Technical Sales & Solution Architecture - Vendor Management - Payments Fraud Prevention - A strong preference will be given to candidates with previous eCommerce or Payments experience, particularly in a consumer context. A candidate with additional Web3/Crypto or fintech expertise are preferred. - Set the vision, direction, and execution of Bookit’s Engineering and Technology teams by doing things like: - View technology as a strategic business capability (not simply a product function), continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, automation, and decision-making across the entire organization. - Represent Bookit at various conferences. - Architect and Lead Technical Strategy and Decision-Making. - Partner with Operations on technology strategy, resource planning, and budgeting (including the use of AI Agents). - Partner with enterprise customers and prospective clients to articulate Bookit's technology strategy and solution capabilities. - Champion the thoughtful use of AI across the organization to improve engineering productivity, internal operations, customer support, enterprise implementations, and business processes. - Develop repeatable implementation methodologies that reduce deployment time for enterprise white-label customers. - Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering culture. - Balance and Prioritize things like Innovation, Cost-effectiveness, User Needs. - Build and lead a security-first engineering culture capable of meeting enterprise customer procurement, compliance, and information security requirements, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001 initiatives. - Balance operational efficiency, employee experience, functionality, and information security. - Partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Success to help win enterprise customers and ensure successful technical implementations. Qualifications - 12+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale web or mobile platforms, with demonstrated expertise in scalable systems architecture, distributed systems, and pragmatic technical decision-making. - Maintains the technical depth and credibility to guide architecture, review critical technical decisions, and contribute during high-impact engineering initiatives when needed. - 5+ years of Engineering leadership and management of a team of at least 20+ engineers. - 3+ years of InfoSec leadership along with a keen sense of understanding of compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001. - 3+ years of being responsible for IT Services, whether directly or via a direct report. - 5+ years work in Loyalty, E-Commerce or Payment technology platforms. - Strong Understanding of Payments Fraud Risk and Tools, such as Stripe Radar. - Comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment. - Excellent executive presence and communication, with the ability to clearly articulate the trade-offs in any technical decision-making. - A passion for solving problems over building features. - A penchant for Creative Ideation.
