Environmental Project Manager

• Environmental regulatory and permitting responsibilities include identifying project-specific environmental regulatory requirements; coordinating with resource agency personnel; writing and reviewing technical reports; developing environmental permit applications (federal, state, and local); presenting at public meetings; and facilitating successful environmental permitting of multiple and varied projects. • Project management responsibilities may include developing proposals; managing projects and budgets; building and managing project teams; coordinating with clients, subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal project staff; and performing and overseeing project multi-disciplinary technical work. • Business development responsibilities may include maintaining existing client relations and collaborating to develop and pursue new clients and opportunities. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating, conducting, and/or leading field work. • The Project Manager must solve problems of significant complexity by providing original, innovative, practical, and economical solutions. • Work involves planning, directing, and coordinating complex assignments/projects, modifying established guidelines, and initiating new approaches while managing multiple projects concurrently.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting, including regulatory coordination and permit application development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory associations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and represent clients in a public setting, such as a local planning board meeting or public informational meeting.
  • Experience permitting large scale energy projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid and tendering offers.
  • "Hands-on" experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability.
  • Demonstrated experience meeting project deadlines in a cost-effective manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including advanced technical writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and establish positive working relationships.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform work accurately in a detailed-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials.
