Role Description - Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches, and say clearly what the data does and does not support. - Access, clean, and analyse large complex datasets, particularly AIS and other spatio-temporal maritime data. - Apply statistical and exploratory techniques to surface patterns, test hypotheses, and generate defensible insight. - Produce outputs across the full range: quick data extracts, dashboards, visualisations, and written reports. - Validate findings and explain assumptions, limitations, and implications to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Lead or contribute to spatial joins, routing, network analysis, and traffic density work. - Work with AIS-derived data: vessel positions, port calls, voyages, and activity states. - Produce maps and geospatial visualisations for analysis and business development. - Build and maintain scalable pipelines and curated datasets in Databricks. - Contribute to performance optimisation, data modelling, and quality assurance. - Use version control and peer review as standard practice. - Codify repeatable analyses and build reusable components. - Develop self-service capabilities including staged datasets and assisted interfaces.
