Role Description Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. - Serves as the Telepsychiatry coordinator under the direction and supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist, Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). - Leads, directs, supervises, coordinates, participates in, and oversees the functioning and growth of the telepsychiatric services within the BOP. - Provides supervision, orientation, and training to all stand-alone Psychiatrists (telepsychiatrists) at non-medical center locations. - Coordinates the workload and psychiatric support efforts between telepsychiatrists and their assigned institutions. - Provides clinical and administrative oversight as needed to field telepsychiatrists and mainline staff. - Serves in an advisory or consultation relationship to other health care professionals performing evaluations in the assigned mainline institutions. - Coordinates and ensures quality patient care in accordance with administrative policies of the BOP, American Correctional Association (ACA), JC, and other regulatory agencies. Qualifications - Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada, accredited by recognized bodies. - Degree from Foreign Medical School: Must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. - Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a recognized jurisdiction. - Graduate Training: At least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting. - Additional Requirements: 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled OR equivalent experience and training.
