Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated success partnering with leaders to understand business priorities, identify performance needs, and develop solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Experience in conducting needs assessments, investigating performance challenges, and performing root cause analysis to identify underlying causes and recommend targeted solutions
  • Proven ability to influence decisions, build stakeholder alignment, and establish credibility across functions and organizational levels without direct authority
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into actionable strategies, plans, and measurable success criteria
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating learning, performance, change, or organizational effectiveness initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and leverage performance metrics, business measures, and data-driven insights to assess effectiveness and inform decision-making

Role Description The Director, Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for designing, leading, and executing the Operations learning strategy for a multi-site manufacturing organization. This role oversees all training programs, systems, and capability-building initiatives across a multi-site manufacturing network. This role ensures that leaders, frontline supervisors, and hourly employees have the skills, capabilities, and development pathways needed to demonstrate strong leadership and drive operational excellence, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Director partners closely with Manufacturing VP's, Plant Leaders, HR Business Partners, Safety, Quality, Operations, and Corporate HR Centers of Excellence to build a high-performance learning culture that supports business growth, talent readiness, and workforce capability.
