Job Description

Payroll Administrator

Ardent Mills

• Accurately prepare and process full-cycle weekly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2,500 team members across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico using Workday and ADP Smart Compliance. • Verify team member data, timekeeping records, retroactive pay adjustments, and payroll transactions for accuracy prior to final processing. • Administer wage garnishments and deductions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. • Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including taxes, benefits, union dues, and 401(k) contributions, ensuring correct application and reporting. • Generate and distribute payroll-related reports such as earnings statements, tax summaries, and time worked records as needed. • Respond to team member payroll inquiries promptly and professionally with a focus on a high level of customer service, providing necessary information and resolving issues with clarity and confidentiality. • Collaborate with HR, finance, and management to ensure accurate data flow and timely resolution of payroll discrepancies. • Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, tax reporting regulations, and internal controls, including participation in audits and year-end reporting. • Participate in Workday system updates and testing to ensure payroll functionality and compliance with policy changes. • Provide backup support to other payroll team members as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years administering payroll in a high volume, multi –state, multi-company, union environment.
  • FPC certification highly preferred.
  • Workday payroll experience highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office – Teams, Word, Outlook.
  • Advanced Excel skills – including pivot table, v-look up, and some linking skills.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements as well as payroll best practices and HR policies.
  • Keen attention to detail, process execution and follow-through with excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems in a logical and effective manner.
