Job Description

Engineering Manager, Infrastructure

Gensyn

You will build and lead the team responsible for the reliability, security, and scalability of Gensyn’s production infrastructure and developer platform. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role: you’ll manage and grow a high-performing Infrastructure / Platform / SRE / Security group while remaining technically deep across cloud systems, distributed systems, and operational excellence. Critically, this role requires meaningful Ethereum / EVM experience, gained either by building an EVM-based protocol or working in a smart contract security/auditing environment. Lead and grow a team of Infrastructure, Platform, DevOps/SRE, and Security Engineers: hiring, coaching, performance management, and execution. Own the availability, scalability, and security posture of production systems: SLOs/SLIs, incident response, postmortems, reliability improvements, and hardening. Drive delivery across ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives: roadmap planning, prioritization, and execution against tight timelines. Partner closely with CTO and technical leads to scope work, set expectations, communicate progress, and remove blockers. Build a strong engineering culture with high standards for operational rigor, security, and developer productivity. Establish and evolve internal tooling and platform capabilities that improve deployment velocity, safety, and observability. Work cross-functionally with product, security, and research to align infrastructure strategy with business and technical goals.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years building and operating production infrastructure/platform/security systems with real operational ownership.
  • Proven people-management ownership: hiring, coaching, performance management, and leading an infra/platform/SRE/security team.
  • Strong cloud systems + software engineering background; able to design systems and review production code.
  • Deep hands-on experience with modern infrastructure practices and tooling such as Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, and strong observability (metrics/logs/tracing).
  • Demonstrated track record scaling distributed systems with measurable reliability and/or security outcomes.
  • Ethereum / EVM experience - preferred background in smart contract security / auditing or building at an EVM-based protocol (L2, DeFi protocol, EVM chain, core protocol/platform infrastructure).
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with distributed ML systems or GPU-heavy environments.
  • Experience working closely with research teams or research-adjacent engineering.
  • Founder or early-stage engineering leadership experience.
  • Meaningful open source contributions.
  • Formal verification, fuzzing, or advanced security testing experience in EVM contexts.
  • Compensation / Benefits
  • Competitive salary + share of equity and token pool.
  • Fully remote work - we currently hire between the West Coast (PT) and Central Europe (CET) time zones.
  • Visa sponsorship - available for those who would like to relocate to the US after being hired.
  • 3-4x all expenses paid company retreats around the world, per year.
  • Whatever equipment you need.
  • Paid sick leave and flexible vacation.
  • Company-sponsored health, vision, and dental insurance - including spouse/dependents [🇺🇸 only].
