Role Description Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician II for our Central Medication Refill Program. - Location: Remote. Must reside in Virginia. - Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week) - Shift: Days (Anticipated Mon-Fri) - Hours: 7:30AM-4:00PM or 8:00AM-4:30PM The Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities in specialized areas of pharmacy practice under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. - Triages, manages, and processes incoming medication refill requests from pharmacies, patients, and providers accurately and within established turnaround times to support continuity of patient care. - Provides pharmacists and providers with relevant clinical and administrative information by performing accurate and efficient chart reviews while identifying, documenting, and communicating discrepancies or failed protocols requiring escalation. - Triages and escalates questions, clinical concerns, or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the appropriate pharmacist, provider, or care team member. - Maintains quality assurance according to departmental standards, legal requirements, and medication refill program expectations. - Communicates effectively and collaborates with fellow pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, and interdisciplinary care team members in a primarily electronic workflow environment. - Demonstrates advanced technical skills, ownership of medication refill workflows, strong attention to detail, organization, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently within defined centralized pharmacy technician responsibilities. - Participates in onboarding, training, and support of new employees as assigned. - In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Qualifications - High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) - Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required) - CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required) - 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required) Requirements - A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.
