National Title Examination Specialist

• Perform examination of title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and to establish chain of title. • Review title search reports and their documentation in a timely and thorough manner. • Verify that the information in the title search and accompanying documentation is accurate and complete. • Resolve any issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation • Abstract and analyze deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, mineral reservations, and other applicable instruments. • Verify ownership and encumbrances of real property. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the title services industry.
- Knowledge of multi-state title insurance guidelines.
- Working knowledge of basic real estate title concept.
- Working knowledge of legal documents and how they affect title to real property.
- Familiarity with title insurance commitment and policy format and all procedures required to prepare same including abstracting, title examinations, survey analysis, etc.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and tasks requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy.
- Ability to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to apply common sense in performing job.
- Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
- Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters, and/or conduct routine oral communication.
- Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports and/or to orally communicate technical information.
- Ability to communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone; requires ability to hear and speak effectively on the telephone.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately audibly, and quickly.
