Job Description

Technical Specialist

Gypsum Management and Supply

• Effectively teach, train, and convert the customer base on the value, service, and merits of Ames Tools • Conduct a dynamic tools presentation and provide instruction to prospective tool users • Cultivate relationships and build referral business • Conduct Training Events • Conduct product demonstrations • Deliver hard sales results by writing merchandise sales orders • Assist with open-house events • Assist with tool quality and development • Assist with employee and training • Certification of Ames customers on the tools • Grow rental revenues to desired company standards

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Four plus years related experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Outstanding skills in customer service
  • Suggestive selling skills
  • Financial acumen
  • Understanding of and ability to sell importance of service in the tool rental equation
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean MVR with ability to be underwritten by company automobile insurance carrier
  • Forklift Certification is required in some stores and may be obtained post hire
  • Ability to conduct tool training sessions on job sites
  • Ability to sell features and benefits to end users and decision makers
  • Ability to sell features and benefits of sales merchandise product line
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
