Role Description - Develop and implement the UK & Europe EHS strategy, policies, management systems, and governance framework in line with applicable legislation, industry standards, and company objectives. - Provide strategic EHS leadership and advice to senior management, supporting business decisions, operational planning, and risk management. - Coordinate EHS activities during project execution and service. - Review customer EHS requirements during tendering and commercial negotiations and ensure appropriate EHS obligations are incorporated into project execution plans. - Establish and maintain effective management systems for identifying, assessing, managing, mitigating, and monitoring EHS risks during project execution. - Develop and maintain a consistent regional emergency response and management system. Lead incident management, investigations, and corrective actions. - Establish and oversee EHS assurance programs, including audits, inspections, compliance reviews, performance reporting, and management reviews. - Drive a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, training, coaching, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Maintain relationships with regulators, clients, certification bodies, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders on EHS matters. - Lead and coordinate regional EHS resources, including internal personnel, external consultants, and specialist service providers. - Support the implementation of corporate ESG and sustainable development strategies. - Provide regular EHS performance reporting and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Qualifications - Degree or professional qualification in Environment, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Significant EHS leadership experience within energy storage, renewable energy, construction, utilities, infrastructure, or other high-risk industries. - Strong knowledge of UK and European EHS legislation and management systems (including ISO 45001). - Proven experience developing EHS strategy, governance frameworks, and organizational capability. - Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead EHS performance across multiple countries and complex projects. - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
