Low Voltage Designer
Bergelectric
• Produces 2D and 3D low voltage system designs for field installation and coordination with other sub-contractor trades. • Participates in regular coordination and status update meetings with various trade team members utilizing both virtual platforms and in person meetings. • Prepares low voltage calculations, mounting details, and detailed wiring diagrams to support field installation documentation. • Reads architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, elevation, and reflective ceiling plan drawings to ensure design accuracy. • Coordinates daily with NTS Design Manager and NTS Operations staff to resolve any design impacts and ensure that design schedules, budgets, and customer expectations are being met.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 2 to 5+ years of total low voltage system design experience.
- Solid working knowledge of Autodesk software; Fluency in Navisworks and AutoCAD MEP is preferred.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and 3D coordination with other trades is a plus. Willing to attend provided training if not.
- Detailed understanding of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical)
- Understanding of electrical/ low voltage symbols and electrical/low voltage drafting conventions and standards.
- Knowledge of the following systems: Fire Alarm, Electronic Security, Telecommunications, and Nurse Call Systems
- Strong understanding of low voltage system applications, terminology, architecture, and current industry trends
- NICET Certified or equivalent design experience with Fire Alarm System Codes and Standards preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and the use of virtual meeting platforms such as MS Teams.
- Exceptional relationship building, customer relations, and client communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must. (Verbally and Written)

• Creates a safe, functional, and attractive environment in our senior living facilities for all projects (renovation projects or new projects) assigned by the Director of Interior Services • Makes site trips to buildings with Divisional Director of Property Management (DDPM) and determines scope of work required for the project, as required • Creates scope of work and reviews with Director of Interior Services, Asset Management and Operations • Selects finishes, furnishings and equipment for building and creates finish schedules, furniture & window treatment schedules and diagrams needed for contractors to perform work on site • Maintains communication with Executive Directors, Regional Directors and others throughout entire process • Establishes and maintains detailed records of all specifications and quotes and verifies that all information has been received by the Divisional Director of Property Management • Specifies artwork and accessories as needed • Follows up on installation dates / schedules with the Project Coordinator and DDPM • Verifies proper installation of all FF&E and finishes at assigned residences • Provides a post installation detailed document to Project Coordinator regarding missing items, damaged goods and contractor punch items upon project close out • Provides direction to team members as required • Establishes and maintains detailed electronic project files for future reference • Provides marketing assistance to communities as needed or per direction of Director of Interior Services • Attends regional and/or divisional meetings as needed or directed by the Director of Interior Services
