Your area of focus: - Oversee all accounting and reporting functions. - Provide financial leadership and deliver meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making and operational success. What drives your day-to-day? - Lead the dealership's accounting and financial reporting functions. - Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expense control activities. - Ensure all financial accounts are reconciled accurately and on time, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, manufacturer statements, intercompany accounts, and vehicle deal commissions. - Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. - Analyze financial results and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance. - Review and maintain dealership contracts and financial agreements. - Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and manufacturer requirements. - Attend leadership meetings and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and business planning discussions. - Collaborate with Home Office and dealership leadership teams on financial and operational initiatives. - Lead, coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members. - Support year-end reporting, audits, and other financial projects as required. Qualifications - Minimum 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience. - Previous automotive dealership accounting experience is required. - CPA designation. - Previous leadership experience overseeing or managing an accounting team. - Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. - Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. - Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. - Results-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized with a strong business acumen. Role Description Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will be a key contributor to scaling our financial operations. We are a Sequoia-backed Series A company and are ready to transition from foundational accounting to a sophisticated, scalable finance function. You will be a part of the entire accounting cycle, ensure we are audit-ready, and provide the financial visibility needed to drive our next phase of growth. You will be expected to roll up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day while building out the automated systems that will support our global expansion. Responsibilities - Own day-to-day accounting at Origin, including accounting for foreign subsidiaries (e.g., Canada, Israel, etc.), multi-currency consolidation and local tax compliance. - Partner with People Ops to ensure seamless payroll execution for international contractors and EOR (Employer of Record) employees. - Own and accelerate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements. - Prepare and present monthly flash reports and board-level financial packages that highlight key KPIs, burn rate, and runway. - Lead the company through preparing for its first external audit. - Manage all domestic and international tax filings (VAT, GST, R&D tax credits).
