Bank Controller – Contract

• Overseeing daily general ledger analysis, reporting and reconciliations. • Producing periodic financial reports; as required for daily, monthly, and annual monitoring for internal departments and committees. • Maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and maintain the accuracy of the Bank’s reported financial results. • Ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting standards. • Forecasting the Bank’s financial performance and preparing detailed explanations for deviations of fees and operating expenses to budget. • Preparing and filing the Bank’s call report and other regulatory and financial reports and statements before the established deadlines. • Completing the Bank’s interest rate risk analysis and reporting. • Oversee month, quarter and year-end period close. • Play a pivotal role in the completion of annual FDIC and other agency audits. • Overseeing the Bank’s payroll, accounts payable and investment functions. • Managing the Bank’s Holding Company’s financial activity and statements, shareholder correspondence, regulatory reporting and tax filings. • Supervising finance department staff as assigned. • Conducting project management functions as related to finance operations and other projects as assigned and directed by the CFO and President. • Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s established guidelines, policies, and procedures. • Work with department managers to create procedures to ensure effective and efficient system usage and maintenance as it relates to accounting operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five or more years of comprehensive accounting experience and at least two (2) years of experience managing the general ledger and financial reporting functions. Experience in a financial institution accounting role preferred
  • Financial control and general ledger expertise.
  • Prior banking experience is preferred, with knowledge and application of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in using advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, graphing, pivot tables); Microsoft Office, and other accounting software systems.
  • Proficient use with Banking core processor systems: Fiserv, Prologue preferred
  • Experience with Interest Rate Risk and budgeting tools.
  • The ability to make decisions, exhibit sound, and accurate judgment, and make timely decisions.
  • The ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by skillfully gathering and analyzing information, facts, data, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Qualifications - A minimum of 5+ years' career experience. - Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - ACONEX knowledge is mandatory. - Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Administration or equivalent. - Experience working within the Gulf Region is essential. - A background in the engineering, architectural or construction industry would be viewed favorably. Role Description Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will be a key contributor to scaling our financial operations. You will be a part of the entire accounting cycle, ensure we are audit-ready, and provide the financial visibility needed to drive our next phase of growth. You will be expected to roll up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day while building out the automated systems that will support our global expansion. Responsibilities - Own day-to-day accounting at Origin, including accounting for foreign subsidiaries (e.g., Canada, Israel, etc.), multi-currency consolidation and local tax compliance. - Partner with People Ops to ensure seamless payroll execution for international contractors and EOR (Employer of Record) employees. - Own and accelerate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements. - Prepare and present monthly flash reports and board-level financial packages that highlight key KPIs, burn rate, and runway. - Lead the company through preparing for its first external audit. - Manage all domestic and international tax filings (VAT, GST, R&D tax credits). Where applicable, work for 3rd party tax advisors. - Evaluate and manage our ERP and other financial systems. - Design and implement robust internal controls to mitigate risk without sacrificing startup speed. - Streamline AP/AR, payroll, and expense management through automation tools. - Monitor daily cash balances and optimize treasury management. - Work closely with Department Heads to monitor budget vs. actuals and provide "sanity checks" on departmental spending.
