Role Description The Mobile App Lead will be responsible for all activities and communications as it relates to JD Power’s annual automotive mobile app evaluation and report. The goal of the activities is identifying the best-in-class solutions and experiences that meet the customer’s needs. This is achieved by gathering real customer feedback on current experiences, complemented by expert evaluation, to strategically assess solutions within the U.S. market. Success in this role is driven by executing customer surveys, securing vehicles, conducting rigorous evaluations, and delivering actionable reports to subscribing clients to enhance the customer experience. The Mobile App Lead will lead JD Power’s annual automotive mobile app evaluation, delivering insights that identify best‑in‑class experiences in the U.S. market. By combining customer feedback with expert analysis, this role produces actionable recommendations that help clients improve their mobile offerings and enhance overall customer satisfaction. What You'll Be Doing in This Role - Lead the overall mobile app evaluations. - Evaluate mobile app solutions for overall performance, usability, feature content, software, etc. - Analyze substantial amounts of data and provide clarity to topics using available data sets and research analysis skills. - Develop and write mobile app reports, accounting for all relevant and key information. - Present the findings of the evaluations with supporting rationale to clients. - Translate complex automotive insights into clear, compelling narratives, confidently presenting and defending recommendations to cross-functional teams and OEM executive leadership in high-impact, client-facing engagements. - Support any additional external communications of the activities and results. - Coordinate vehicle procurement and specific vehicle packages to facilitate the evaluations. - Collaborate with colleagues to conduct in-market evaluations and support new product development initiatives aligned with app reporting strategies, incorporating both customer voice surveys and expert assessments. - Support the sales and marketing of current and new products. - Support the development of new products that generate recurring revenue or subscription-based offerings. - Responsible for supporting client relationship management, project scheduling, and budget plans, delivering, presenting, and negotiating proposals. - Support proprietary engagements derived from app reports by leveraging evaluation data to develop tailored insights, analyses, and client-facing solutions. - Demonstrate flexibility beyond app-focused consulting by delivering strategic insights across the full vehicle lifecycle, including product planning, market positioning, and residual value analysis, while maintaining clear, client-centric communication. Qualifications - Strong understanding of consumer electronics, mobile applications, and connected services. - Strong understanding of the automotive industry. - Ability to leverage broad experience and apply professional expertise and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. - Experienced and proficient in research design and general statistics. - Proficient in analyzing complex data sets to generate actionable insights. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis, with the ability to efficiently interpret large datasets, develop automated solutions (e.g., macros), and streamline processes to improve productivity. - Experience leveraging advanced tools, including AI and automation technologies, to enhance workflows, improve efficiency, and drive smarter, data-informed decision-making. - Demonstrates strong project management capabilities, applying relevant skills and methodologies effectively. - Drives project execution and consistently deliver results in alignment with defined milestones. - Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience. Requirements - This position has a starting salary range of $135,000 – $145,000 USD per year. - An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
