CAD Design Engineer
Advanced Systems Group
Role Description Are you passionate about bringing technical designs to life? Join Advanced Systems Group as a CAD Design Engineer and help create best-in-class audiovisual (AV) and systems integration projects from anywhere in the U.S. This fully remote, part-time position offers flexible hours (2–32 hours per week) and the opportunity to work with industry leaders on innovative, highly technical projects. If you’re detail-driven, collaborative, and motivated, we want to hear from you! - Participate in virtual design and coordination meetings, supporting projects from concept through completion. - Create and update highly accurate CAD drawings, including: - System schematics - Line and single-line diagrams - Rack elevations - Room layouts and routing plans - Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and implementation teams to confirm project details and document: - Building and room layouts - Cable conveyance paths (conduit, tray, raised floor) - Power requirements and infrastructure - Plenum and non-plenum spaces - Signal and transport formats (e.g., 3G, 12G, IP-based systems) - Apply ASG’s drafting standards, cable color codes, labeling, and documentation best practices. - Assist with creating and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure documentation accuracy. - Conduct quality reviews of designs to catch and correct discrepancies before installation. - Produce installation-ready wire lists, cable pull sheets, and final design packages for multiple teams. - Maintain red-line changes and incorporate field updates to ensure design accuracy. - Support engineering and integration teams, providing solutions to design-related questions throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure all design documentation upholds ASG standards and industry best practices.
