Georgia Department of Public Health
Role Description The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Regional Coordinator within the Division of Health Protection, Infectious Disease-HIV Section. The Regional Coordinator provides technical assistance and program monitoring within a health care specialty. Responsibilities include: - Providing program consultation, training, and/or coordination of training needs for regional community-based organizations and health departments to improve capacity for effective HIV/AIDS services. - Identifying gaps in services to provide technical assistance. - Working with health departments and community-based organizations to identify outside partners for prevention interventions, counseling, testing, and community mobilization initiatives. - Collaborating with health departments and community-based organizations to create achievable program goals and objectives. - Conducting site visits and providing feedback and technical assistance to ensure programmatic deliverables are met. - Acting as the liaison between the HIV Prevention Program and community-based organizations and health departments. - Reviewing grantees' monthly summary reports and submitting invoices for payment. Qualifications - High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Prgm Consultant 1 (GSP090) or any other combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field, with experience in Public Health, Program Coordination, HIV Prevention, and working with priority populations heavily impacted by HIV. - Master’s degree, extensive experience in HIV-focused programs, knowledge of data analysis and grant management. - Experience writing grant proposals. - Experience in developing program budgets and tracking program expenditures. - Considerable knowledge of HIV prevention programs, project monitoring, and program development, implementation, and evaluation. - Experience developing and implementing or managing public health programs. - Experience coordinating health services or public health programs with various agencies and organizations. Requirements - Employment may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check. - Relocation assistance is not provided. - In the event of an identified emergency, you may be required to assist in meeting the emergency responsibilities of the department.
