Role Description We are looking for a highly creative Visual Designer / Animator to bring ideas to life through motion, effects, and image-based storytelling. This role is focused on developing compelling animation concepts and visual narratives that communicate complex ideas in a simple, engaging way. You will work on concept-driven visuals that feel more like ad-quality storytelling than traditional product design work—creating striking image animations and motion treatments that help shape and communicate forward-looking ideas. What You’ll Do - Create high-impact visual and motion content, including image-based animations, effects, and transitions - Develop creative concepts for animations, drawing inspiration from advertising, campaigns, and cinematic storytelling - Translate abstract ideas into clear, visually compelling stories using motion and design - Produce polished visuals for presentations and storytelling moments that resonate with leadership audiences - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align on creative direction and messaging - Explore new motion styles, visual techniques, and tools to push the quality of storytelling - Iterate quickly on concepts while maintaining a strong level of craft and visual refinement Qualifications - Strong background in motion design, animation, and visual effects - Proven ability to create compelling image-based animation concepts - Expertise with tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Figma - Experience developing story-driven visuals and motion-led narratives - Ability to take ambiguous ideas and turn them into clear visual outputs - Comfortable working in fast-paced, concept-driven environments Preferred Qualifications - Background working at a creative agency or in a highly conceptual environment - Experience collaborating with large technology companies or product-driven teams - Strong portfolio showcasing motion design, effects, and concept-driven animation work - Experience creating ad-style visuals or campaign-level animation concepts - Familiarity with emerging tools and workflows, including AI-driven design What Makes You a Great Fit - You think in motion first and naturally bring static visuals to life - You have strong instincts for storytelling through imagery, timing, and effects - You are highly creative and can generate original concepts, not just execute on direction - You are adaptable and comfortable working with evolving ideas and feedback - You balance creativity with execution, delivering polished, high-quality work Additional Information - This role is focused on motion, effects, and concept-driven visual storytelling rather than traditional product design - A strong portfolio highlighting motion work and animation concepts is required Job Type & Location - This is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, CA.
