Job Description

Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter

AAA

• Review, accept, decline or modify offerings submitted by producers for commercial line coverage • Evaluate risks ensuring compliance with underwriting rules and company philosophy • Review information received regarding risks • Recommend risk improvement as appropriate • Train and educate agency staff on company products and processes • Manage portfolio to control overall mix of accounts and profitability

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years commercial insurance experience
  • Knowledge of insurance laws as they relate to commercial underwriting
  • Experience working in a commercial underwriting environment
  • Experience with inspection techniques related to commercial insurance
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, statistics and probabilities
  • Understanding of commercial insurance contracts and forms
  • Familiarity with ISO or similar bureau rating systems
