Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter
AAA
• Review, accept, decline or modify offerings submitted by producers for commercial line coverage • Evaluate risks ensuring compliance with underwriting rules and company philosophy • Review information received regarding risks • Recommend risk improvement as appropriate • Train and educate agency staff on company products and processes • Manage portfolio to control overall mix of accounts and profitability
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years commercial insurance experience
- Knowledge of insurance laws as they relate to commercial underwriting
- Experience working in a commercial underwriting environment
- Experience with inspection techniques related to commercial insurance
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, statistics and probabilities
- Understanding of commercial insurance contracts and forms
- Familiarity with ISO or similar bureau rating systems
