Senior Underwriter – Restaurants
Distinguished Programs
• Underwrite restaurants risks for primary package and excess/umbrella lines of business. • Analyze and evaluate applicants to ensure proper risk selection. • Negotiate pricing and coverage with brokers. • Rate and quote new and renewal business while adhering to underwriting guidelines and rating rules with proper file documentation. • Underwrite and document all service requests for in-force policies within authority. • Communicate with brokers to obtain information needed to underwrite risks, respond to questions and address issues. • Gather competitor information and marketing intelligence to identify opportunities for improvements to products and pricing. • Participate in other company projects and new initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Commercial Package (ISO-based) underwriting experience.
- Prior experience underwriting restaurants required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ISO-based rating.
- Property and Casualty Insurance license
- Analytical and quantitative skills.
- Must be self-driven detail oriented & possess strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- May be required to travel for team and broker meetings.
