Equipment, Geologic Technician
Zanskar Geothermal & Minerals, Inc.
• Ensure all scientific field methods and sampling are being performed to the highest standards. • Support daily field operations, including the operation and maintenance of vehicles, UTVs, and light mechanical equipment and tools. • Safely, efficiently, and independently mobilize to remote field locations and collect high-quality data. • Work effectively in challenging and variable environments, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other demanding conditions.
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions in the past three years. CDL is preferred, and will grant an automatic pay increase.
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and professionalism.
- High degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in small, remote teams.
- Willingness to commute long distances (300+ miles) and participate in extended field rotations (14 days).
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions at a fast operational tempo.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Physically able to perform strenuous tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure safe and effective performance of duties.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with experience operating and maintaining field vehicles and equipment. (Large diesel trucks, UTVs, and trailers).
- Skilled in GPS use and navigation in remote environments.
- Proficient with computers, especially within the Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Directories).
- Maintains clean, orderly work practices and good housekeeping standards.
