Vivian Health is searching for a software engineer to join the data team. The Data Team plays a critical role in providing insights that drive business strategy and empower data-driven decision making across the organization. What you’ll do: - Work on our data pipelines and build APIs that serve data to our product. - Own the full stack of our client-facing analytics and admin tool. - Implement data pipelines with DBT, Airflow, DynamoDB, and AWS Lambda. - Contribute front-end code to our core product to help integrate our data into product experiences. - Build out telemetry to power our analytics decision-making and machine learning models. Qualifications - 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering. - Strong experience with Python and SQL. - Experience building and maintaining APIs. - Familiarity with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. - Knowledge of AWS technologies like DynamoDB, Lambda, and Elastic Beanstalk. - Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform. - Experience with Airflow and DBT. - Exposure to streaming data pipelines and/or machine learning workflows. - Comfort working with JavaScript and React. Requirements - Within one month, you’ll: - Have spun up our environments locally. - Have built a new data API resource, complete with unit testing and monitoring. - Have built a new dbt model. - Within three months, you'll: - Own a new core function in our admin tool, including the data model, pipeline, and API. - Have built out robust testing and monitoring for our data infrastructure. - Help to steer the architecture decisions and direction of the data engineering team. - Within six months, you'll: - Contribute to tech stack decision-making around streaming data. - Have replaced one of our existing batch data pipelines with a streaming pipeline. - Within a year, you'll: - Power near real-time data to predictive models that provide a personalized experience for our users. - Have built a data platform to make ingesting new data sources and spinning up new API services a breeze.
