• Assist the dot.LA team with daily updates on Los Angeles’ tech and startup world • Help reporters keep a close eye on developments on their beats and on SEC filings for new companies and corporate fundraising • Work closely with the audience team to engage and inform our readers • Brainstorm and develop editorial content in support of dot.LA stories, series, podcasts and events

• Scribes work remotely, alongside AI-generated text, to correct captions for Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) users in real-time • Are always on-time for our missions and are quite communicative & reactive • Are flexible and truly excited to be making the world a better place

• Edit articles for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to editorial standards • Build and program content in our CMS and email campaign tools • Work with freelance writers on drafts • Contribute story ideas across multiple brands and verticals • Maintain content databases and support editorial workflows • Uphold our editorial standards

• Research and select images to support editorial content produced daily • Edit images in Photoshop — color correction, resizing, and optimization for email and web — to match individual brand standards • Assist with light graphic design work within existing templates • Manage image metadata, rights clearances, and digital asset organization in our MAM system • Collaborate with editors, designers, and photo editors to align visual assets with written content • Review photo quality across brands and flag issues for broader review • Support photo editors on special projects as needed • Uphold high editorial standards, ensuring all visuals are clear, accurate, engaging, and trustworthy
