Technical Leader – Customer Project Engineering

• Own the engineering execution of conversions, modifications, and uprates to the installed fleet of GE B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Gas Turbines and associated Plant equipment • Provide leadership and technical direction to domestic and global requisition engineers supporting Agile B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Gas Turbine CM&U projects • Manage the ITO to OTR handoff on behalf of the requisition team for all Agile B/E/F/H/GT Fleet Class projects • Support initiatives that drive productivity and provide technical oversight/direction to ensure safety, quality, cost and on time delivery to Gas Power Service customers • Act as a systems thinker, understanding, adapting to, and anticipating interactions among major equipment within a combined cycle power plant • Manage the ITO to OTR handoff (R3 case) and assign incoming CM&U orders to Agile Requisitions Engineering team members based on workload, capability, and technical fit • Own and drive OTR performance, including KPIs and metrics such as EAC, NCR escapes, Schedule Release, Parts OTD, FMI OTD, ER case OTD, and Project Closure • Ensure effective resource planning and workload distribution by maintaining broad awareness of team efforts and interfacing with Contractor Team Leaders to optimize resource allocation, quality, and on-time delivery • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and kaizens, challenging the status quo to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) for Gas Turbine Services projects • Maintain technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and strong responsiveness to customer and program needs • Communicate effectively with management and cross‑functional stakeholders on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel matters in a dynamic, global environment • Promote professional growth and team development through timely performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring, while bringing enthusiasm and results-driven mindset to the role
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related engineering/science
- Minimum 8 -10 years of engineering or field experience on gas turbines
- Willingness to travel domestically, as needed on occasion
- Understanding of Gas Turbines Power train operation in Peaking and Combined Cycle configurations
- Knowledge of GE Gas Turbine product lines and systems
- Familiar with GT MLI/BOM structure
- Proficient in the Gas Turbine Requisition process
- Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as a high degree of enthusiasm to drive results
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of organizations and individuals in global locations
- Ability and an eagerness to challenge the status quo, without allegiance to past or current practices and technology, resulting in the best outcome for GE and our customers
- Knowledge of BOP Electrical equipment
- Excitation, Load Commutator Inverter, One-line diagrams, Generator Protection, Synchronization, Motor Control Centers
- Knowledge of Plant Communication Networks GE controllers with DCS
- Field experience on GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbines
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
