Role Description The Global Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Power Business Unit (BU) is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing and category strategies that drive cost competitiveness, ensure supply continuity, and deliver quality excellence across Power BU product lines. This role leads supplier strategy, negotiations, and performance management while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams. The position plays a critical role in supporting rapid growth, global manufacturing expansion, and proactive risk mitigation across the Power BU network. Scope & Key Spend Areas - Direct Materials & Components: - Raw cable and cable-related materials - Purchased components and key sub-assemblies - Tooling and supplier services (as applicable) - Global Manufacturing Footprint: - Cochin, India - Nantong & Dongguan, China - Mexicali, Mexico - Future global expansions as required Key Responsibilities - Global Sourcing Strategy & Category Management - Develop and execute global category strategies aligned to cost reduction, quality improvement, supply continuity, and scalability - Drive supplier segmentation, dual/alternate sourcing, and localization initiatives to mitigate single-source and geopolitical risks - Conduct market intelligence, benchmarking, and should-cost analysis to identify sustainable cost and margin improvements - Supplier Identification, Qualification & Development - Lead supplier discovery, RFQs, evaluation, and selection aligned with technical, quality, capacity, and compliance requirements - Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Operations to implement supplier development plans improving OTIF, quality, and responsiveness - Support supplier qualification for new regions and "out-of-China" sourcing strategies - Contracting & Commercial Execution - Negotiate and implement supplier agreements including pricing, payment terms, lead times, service levels, and capacity commitments - Ensure all commercial agreements align with internal policies, risk frameworks, and long-term BU strategy - Manage and optimize existing contracts, including renegotiations and cost recovery initiatives - Cross-Functional & NPI Partnership - Collaborate with Engineering and NPI teams to ensure sourcing readiness for new product launches and production ramp-ups (PPAP/FAI readiness) - Provide sourcing leadership for program transitions, site transfers, and global scale-up initiatives - Risk Management & Supply Continuity - Identify and mitigate supply risks including single-source exposure, capacity constraints, logistics challenges, tariffs, and geopolitical factors - Develop contingency plans, alternate sourcing strategies, and buffer models for critical commodities - Maintain supplier scorecards and lead performance reviews with corrective action and continuous improvement plans - Systems, Analytics & Governance - Own spend visibility, PPV tracking, and validated savings for assigned categories - Develop and maintain supplier KPI dashboards (delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness) - Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, audits, and ethical procurement standards Success Metrics (KPIs) - Supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) and lead-time reduction - Supplier quality performance (PPM reduction, SCAR closure) - Increased dual-source coverage and reduced single-source risk - NPI sourcing readiness and ramp effectiveness - Contract coverage, compliance, and realized cost savings Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field - 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a global manufacturing environment - Proven expertise in supplier negotiations, contracting, and category strategy development - Strong analytical and financial acumen, including spend analysis and cost modeling - Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple regions Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting global manufacturing across Asia and the Americas - Background sourcing direct materials within cable or component ecosystems - MBA or professional certification (CPSM, CPM, CSCP, APICS) preferred Core Competencies - Strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset - High-impact negotiation and stakeholder management skills - Supplier relationship leadership and performance-driven approach - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environments Working Conditions & Travel - Domestic and international travel up to approximately 70% based on business needs (supplier visits, audits, negotiations, and site support) Company Description Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer. As the Men’s Category Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the DTC and Wholesale inventory planning for both pre-season and in-season time periods.
