Title: Part-time Human Research Technologist Location: Hershey United States Part time Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a candidate for a PT Human Research Technologist to explain study aspects and procedures, maintain lab equipment, apply electrodes and monitor overnight sleep studies. As a sleep technician, the position will be accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings (including consecutive night studies) for clinical trials in human subjects; monitor and track research study files to ensure quality control of data collected. Work Hours: 3rd shift, including some weekends. This position is up to 40 hours a week for a maximum assignment length of 16 weeks. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: - Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings; monitor and track research studies to ensure quality control. - Perform PSGs and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, and other research participant data. - Maintain supplies for sleep laboratory as well as recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times for research studies. - Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine) - Participate in aspects of sleep data management for assigned projects including: update and maintain databases; resolve problem data issues; track data collection forms, and other project materials; perform verification procedures. - Collaborate with project coordinators, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects. Work Hours: Part time, up to 40 hours per week, for 16 weeks. PRN hours, working 3rd shift, including weekends, 8:30 pm-8:30 am Qualifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred. Will consider candidates with prior training in sleep studies who have suitable work experience.
