Role Description The Epic Solutions Architect 2 - Patient Access is responsible for the independent design, development, and deployment of clinical applications and technologies. The architect defines system solutions based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. This employee also researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents technology integration or migration strategies. - Engineers new workflows or optimizes existing business processes that supersede existing standards set in place internally or by vendors utilizing expert knowledge crossing multiple clinical applications and operational areas. - Leads projects associated with application implementation and execution of high complexity and larger impact. - Applies project management methodology and utilizes standard project management for software in development and maintenance of project plans. - Functions as an independent project lead or provides oversight for project manager and/or business analyst on assigned projects. - Performs proactive analysis on current systems and technology to recommend potential changes or enhancements. - Identifies product and customization requirements to effectively address necessary product configuration. - Serves as mentor to senior analysts and is proficient and/or certified in numerous applications. - Holds a comprehensive working knowledge and understands healthcare operational processes and job functions pertaining to assigned UHealth IT clinical applications and solutions. - Possesses expert knowledge of third-party partnerships, experience with managing vendor relationships, and contract negotiations. - Provides support to the team in analyzing, resolving, and escalating complex integration problems encountered during system implementations and upgrades. - Implements projects that are ahead of industry/peer trends. - Thinks out of the box and follows the marking curve to stay on the forefront of Healthcare technology. - Designs new solutions. - Participates in new hire orientation by providing clinical application support in the work area required for the job role. - Collaborates with clinic leadership to develop or improve operational processes, policies, and procedures. - Participates in all clinical operations meetings to assess user feedback, gather future requirements for modifications, and provide a status on competency, adoption, and utilization rates. - Facilitates knowledge transfer of the technology-enabled user workflows and best practice use of applications. - Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent or a related field. Master's degree is desirable. - Coding Certification (e.g. CPC, CCS, CIC, CMC) from an accredited healthcare program preferred. - Epic HIM Administration – Certification required. - Epic Hospital Billing and Professional Billing – Proficiency preferred. - 3+ years engineering new and innovative software solutions to advance organizational and industry goals. - Major systems development and implementation experience. - Multiple years of experience mentoring and leading analyst, system engineering, and programming teams. - Familiar with state-of-the-art, industry-specific technology and solutions. - Ability to proactively identify needs within the organization and, using expert technical and industry knowledge, design and build new solutions in support of organizational goals. - Demonstrated knowledge project management and change control. - Expert knowledge of supported industry and operations. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word. - Knowledge of operational healthcare, hospital and/or ambulatory and inpatient workflows and medical terminology. - Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions. - Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Outstanding oral and written communication skills. - Knowledge of operational healthcare hospital and ambulatory workflows. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. - Demonstrated knowledge of project management and control. - Works well independently or as part of a team. - Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. • Provide business and technical support to our Customers and team up with Brinks teams (Sales, Customer Care and Cross Functional teams). • Lead in the project management and implementation of software and hardware solutions (Pre & Post Sales activities). • Work with Customers to understand their needs and then deliver solutions. • Create documentation, ROI and Observation analysis, SOW and intricacies of the customer. • Perform on-site presentations and product demonstrations, observations and presentations of product offerings and solutions. • Create and provide training and support documents both internally and externally at customer sites. • Software and Hardware troubleshooting and resolution reporting to stakeholders. • Work with internal Cross Functional teams on testing, installation, enhancements and operational readiness for these solutions.
