Senior Financial Accountant

Role Description We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team! In this role, you'll own the month-end and year-end financial close, prepare accurate financial reports for leadership and the board, and bring a high level of accuracy and efficiency to everything you touch. You'll prepare the annual financial audit, support corporate tax return preparation, and help strengthen our reporting systems. What You Will Do: - Support the full month-end and year-end close cycle, including producing accurate financial reports for leadership and the board - Analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, leveraging a strong understanding of TE's drivers, cash flow, and P&L - Contribute to the annual financial audit and assist with ASPE to US GAAP reconciliation; apply sound accounting principles to resolve issues at the right level - Partner with the CFO in preparing investor and lender reporting, dashboards, annual budgets, and forecasts - Review existing accounting processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and reporting quality - Serve as a superuser across finance systems (Sage Intacct, BambooHR, Shareworks, and Prophix) documenting processes, handling complex tasks, and assisting with Employee Shares, Options, and Canadian and US Corporate Taxes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RevOps, People, Legal) to identify financial issues and align on impacts - Provide mentorship to junior accountants and model exemplary professional standards, including around sensitive and confidential data Qualifications - CPA Designation - 3-5 years of accounting experience - Minimum 2 years of experience in an intermediate or senior accounting role - Advanced knowledge of main accounting principles (ASPE & US GAAP) - Ability to complete tasks with high accuracy by the deadline - Ability to handle confidential data with a high degree of professionalism - Self-starter with high initiative and ownership - High level of attention to detail Requirements - Experience with multi-ledger accounting systems - Experience with Shareworks and other relevant softwares - Experience with large Deferred Revenue schedules and understanding of contracts - Experience in a fast-paced environment Benefits - Generous time off policy - Flexible extended benefits plan options - Company-wide wellness days off scheduled throughout the year - Maternity & parental leave top-up programs - Access to Maple & Inklbot for primary care, mental health, and wellness needs - Remote-first work environment with mutual trust - Inclusive culture prioritizing employee perspectives - Competitive pay and benefits with share options - Regular learning sessions and access to an annual Professional Development stipend & Company Coach

Role Description Democrats for Education Reform (DFER) is seeking a Director of Finance & Operations to direct and oversee the integrated management of all organizational aspects related to the operational infrastructure, finance and accounting, and human resources functions for our multi-entity organization, which includes a 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and Political Action Committee (PAC). This role is a key strategic partner to the executive team, providing the financial insight necessary to advance the organization's mission.
