Senior Software Engineer, Data Products
Turquoise Health
• Design and build robust, scalable applications using Python, Django, and modern frontend web technologies • Work autonomously on complex assignments requiring specialist contribution and cross-team collaboration • Execute and adapt established processes to achieve technical objectives with minimal guidance • Write effective, scalable, testable code across full-stack applications (Python/Django, PostgreSQL, JavaScript/Vue) • Work with large datasets and AI/ML systems to process and enhance healthcare pricing data • Facilitate technical conversations and proactively communicate status and impact to avoid blockers • Support and guide teammates in understanding technical concepts and established processes • Iterate quickly with an eye towards value
Job Requirements
- 5-7+ years work experience in Python, or strong experience in another programming language with some Python exposure
- Expertise in at least one popular Python web framework (preferably Django) or similar web framework in another language
- Strong understanding of SQL and how to efficiently use databases to solve complex problems
- Solid experience with JavaScript, and one or more modern JS frameworks like Vue or React
- Experience working with APIs, data pipelines, and complex system architectures
- Ability to work effectively with minimal guidance on complex, non-routine problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to facilitate conversations, listen actively, and work effectively in remote environments
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you can problem solve independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience/knowledge. We are happy to work with strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds
