Fullstack Software Engineer – Ruby on Rails, React
Pennylane
• You will learn everything about our company, teams, and vision during the first week of onboarding. • You will follow technical training to get familiar with the application, accounting concepts, the code stack (we use Rails, React, TypeScript, ES6, Jest, AWS) and our CI/CD processes. • You will be integrated into your squad and introduced to the squad's scope, roles, and responsibilities. • You will have a “tech buddy,” a more senior software engineer who will support you daily with the technical details you need to know as a software engineer. • You will start by working on what we call “good first issues” to become familiar with the development environment, code structure, tools and the squad's scope. • You will be able to take ownership of and gain responsibility for certain features or projects the squad is responsible for. • You will contribute to scaling the Pennylane application from 30k+ clients to millions of customers.
Job Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
- A well-balanced mix of technical, business and product skills.
- A team player with experience working in an agile environment.
- Enjoy being challenged and solving complex problems (accounting is complex across Europe).
- Demonstrate empathy for your users and a desire to solve real problems for them.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate your ideas clearly.
