IS Security Operations Analyst

Ochsner Health

• Monitor the Ochsner computer network environment for potential security threats. • Work with and learn from experienced security team leaders. • Use the latest technology to detect, analyze and limit intrusions and security events. • Perform network security monitoring and incident response. • Maintain records of security monitoring and incident response activities. • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). • Facilitate the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure and maintain proper levels of system and data availability. • Provide installation and support of the technology infrastructure.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber security, or related field (preferred)
  • SANS GIAC / ISC2 CISSIP or other advanced security certifications (preferred)
  • 0-2 years IT experience with Bachelor’s degree OR 2-4 years IT experience with Associate’s degree OR relevant experience
  • 2 years of experience related to IS Security/ Cyber security (preferred)
  • Fundamental understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP)
  • Security-relevant knowledge and experience (security operations, security configuration and deployment models, threat detection / response, incident detection / response, investigations, forensics)
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems
  • Experience with regulations and frameworks - e.g., HIPAA, PCI, NIST
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills and logical thought processes
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
