• Accurately review medical records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations • Manage patient demographics, clinical documentation, and billing data across practice management systems and hospital records • Support and educate clinical staff and providers on documentation and coding standards to promote compliance, accuracy, and effective communication
Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
- Accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (CCS-P) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC)
- Newly obtained coding certification to three years experience in provider coding and medical terminology with extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC coding required
- Preferred specialty experience in areas of Orthopedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation or Pain Management

Role Description Looking for a motivated, experienced Trauma, GI, and/or Surgery Physician Coder to join our talented team. This position covers Trauma, Gastro and General Surgery. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in General Surgical Coding. This position focuses on E&M (including split shared), surgeries and Critical Care coding. This is a fully remote position and available if you live in the following states only: - AK - AL - AR - AZ - CA - CO - FL - GA - IA - ID - IN - KS - KY - LA - MI - MN - MO - MS - NC - NH - ND - NE - NM - NV - NY - OH - OK - OR - PA - SC - TN - TX - UT - VA - WA - WI - WV - WY Evaluates medical records, provides clinical and surgical abstraction and assigns appropriate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines.
