Mechanical Integrity Engineer

• Intertek Multinational Company Leader in ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, Certification) is seeking experienced Fitness-For-Service Mechanical Integrity Engineers for upcoming work related to Brownfield EPC modifications, revamp projects, and operational integrity programs across multiple Energy assets. • This role focuses on evaluating existing equipment, legacy systems, and in‑service degradation to support engineering decisions related to re‑rating, tie‑ins, life extension, defect assessment, and mechanical integrity assurance. • The FFS Mechanical Integrity Engineer provides technical authority in API 579/ASME FFS‑1 assessments and mechanical integrity engineering, ensuring that all evaluations and recommendations are technically defensible, compliant with international codes, and aligned with Client integrity requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Metallurgy, or equivalent. Master’s degree in Mechanical Integrity or related field is an advantage.
- Proven experience in mechanical integrity engineering, including rerating, repair evaluation, and static equipment integrity.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience performing FFS assessments.
- Experience with software / tools for Level 2 and Level 3 assessments.
- API 579 training and demonstrated competency in performing FFS assessments (mandatory).
- API 510 and/or API 570 certifications preferred.
- API 571 familiarity is beneficial for damage mechanism correlation.
- ASME or FEA‑related training is an advantage
- Deep expertise in API 579/ASME FFS‑1 methodology and its application to in‑service pressurized equipment.
- Strong understanding of stress analysis, fracture mechanics, remaining life calculations, and structural integrity principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting inspection and NDT data for flaw evaluation and defect characterization.
- Advanced proficiency with FFS software tools.
- Thorough understanding of ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, API 510/570, and related mechanical integrity codes.
- Ability to integrate FFS and Mechanical Integrity results into revamp decisions, repair scopes, and operational integrity strategies

Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. - Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage. - Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience acting as Structural Integrity Engineer. - Experience with structural analysis software for assessment-level calculations. - Chartered Engineer (CEng / PE / EUR Ing) or equivalent. - API 579 familiarity (Parts 5 & 9) is an advantage. - Training in structural assessment, Eurocodes, or API/ASME integrity standards. - Strong understanding of structural analysis principles, load combinations, and code-based assessment methods. - Proficiency in evaluating non-pressurized structural elements: steel structures, concrete structures, pipe racks, platforms, supports, and foundations. - Ability to assess corrosion, section loss, deformation, vibration, and fatigue-related issues. - Familiarity with operational constraints, plant walkdowns, and brownfield engineering practices. - Working knowledge of integrity management systems and inspection workflows.
