Role Description The VISN 10 Clinical Contact Center is in search of a Pharmacy Supervisor. The Pharmacy Supervisor is a licensed pharmacist who fulfills the duties and responsibilities of direct supervisor of personnel assigned to the Clinical Program Section of the Pharmacy Service. Responsibilities include: - Manage day-to-day operations of the PCC and provide direct supervision to pharmacy technician supervisors and the community care pharmacy technician. - Address personnel matters, collaborating with employees and union representatives to resolve employee-management concerns. - Approve or deny leave requests for assigned PCC staff based on workload needs, including adjusting or establishing new tours of duty. - Complete performance evaluations, recommend awards, and initiate or support disciplinary actions; provide recommendations to the PCC Program Manager when appropriate. - Participate in developing, updating, and implementing PCC policies, procedures, and training materials. - Prepare and present reports and documentation requested by PCC leadership, VISN executives, the VISN 10 VA Health Connect Director, or other governing bodies. - Coordinate continuous improvement huddles with pharmacy staff to enhance communication and support process improvement. - Evaluate PCC workflow to identify and act on opportunities for operational improvement. - Act as a backup point of contact for the PCC Program Manager when needed. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Eastern Time), with occasional weekend and holiday rotations. Occasional travel may be required for equipment and IT-related issues. Remote: This position is designated as remote. Remote work is defined as full-time employment conducted outside of a VA facility or in VA-leased spaces. The option for remote work will be assessed continuously, and the selected individual may need to return to a VA office if required. The selectee must live within 50 miles of a VA Medical Center. Qualifications - Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. - United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. - Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. - Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. - English Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f). Requirements - Experience: In addition to the GS-12 requirements, must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. - Assignments: Candidates at this grade level are to be in one of the assignments listed below. - Pharmacy Supervisor: Responsible for the professional and administrative management of an assigned area in pharmacy service, to include budgetary execution.
