Senior Python Backend Engineer

• Design and build scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and WebSocket-based systems • Manage and optimize NoSQL-backed data storage for performance and reliability • Develop backend services for real-time communication, high-throughput ETL, and cross-service orchestration • Implement monitoring, tracing, and alerting for production systems • Champion code quality through TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and effective code reviews • Collaborate with AI and frontend teams to deliver seamless, AI-powered features • Ensure high standards of performance, security, and maintainability
Job Requirements
- 7+ years building production-grade backend systems in Python
- BS in Computer Science or related field (or 15+ years of overall software engineering experience)
- Experience working with Django and Celery
- Built and deployed WebSocket and event-based communication layers
- Proficient in at least one NoSQL database
- Solid understanding of best practices in building scalable and performant data access layers (using ORMs and beyond)
- Experience with production monitoring and observability platforms
- Track record working in fast-paced startup environments
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools in the development lifecycle
