Role Description Oregon Housing & Community Services (OHCS) is searching for a Research Analyst to join our Research Section. The person in this role will work within a team of research analysts and collaborate closely with divisional program and policy analysts on the delivery and monitoring of Agency programs in Oregon. They will regularly query, analyze, transform, and report data from a variety of sources, regularly using statistical, geospatial, and other analytical tools. The primary purpose of this position is to support effective and equitable program design, implementation, and delivery through research and data analysis across Agency programs. This position supports a variety of program areas, depending on organizational needs and priorities. It collects, cleans, analyzes, reports, and visualizes quantitative and qualitative information related to Agency programs and housing issues in Oregon. - Ensure integrity, accuracy, and appropriate governance of data used across Agency programs. - Conduct work with an equity lens, ensuring that all research centers marginalized communities like Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). - Interact with other research analysts and program staff, communicating reporting needs and requirements. Qualifications - A Bachelor's degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures. - -OR- Three years’ experience as a research assistant comparable to the work of a Research Analyst 1; or two years’ experience using computer applications to help gather, compile, analyze, and report information and statistical data. Requirements - Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative skills and knowledge of research methods (experience with R Studio, or some other statistical software is required). - Experience analyzing, interpreting, and validating data and preparing reports and data visualizations using tools like ArcGIS, Power BI, Tableau, and others. - Experience with SQL for relational databases, including querying, data cleaning, managing tables/views, working with large datasets, and performing data governance and quality assurance tasks. - Knowledge of housing market and housing needs data sources. - Experience promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and applying an equity lens to research and data analysis. Role Description This position completes research efficiently and accurately to ensure the departmental goals to prevent aging of claims and erroneous disbursements or claims from processing incorrectly. This position also assists in any special projects that may arise. Location: This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm and will be fully remote. What You’ll Do: - Verify disbursement requests to ensure the request is valid and appropriately documented. - Research rejected, transition, and paid status claims for validity and escalate as appropriate. - Use the various systems of the department/company to complete research and gain sufficient knowledge of the claims system and how it relates to other systems. - May research claims to identify or validate fraud, waste or abuse. - Monitor inventory reports to ensure claims are resolved accordingly. - Provide documentation as requested for audit purposes. - May provide written or telephone correspondence to resolve claims issues. - Serves as a point of contact for various providers, professional and facility. - Research claims as related to billing or crediting groups. - Research claims to ensure the proper adjustments are made and groups receive credit or are billed appropriately. Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent. - 3 years of experience processing claims in a healthcare environment. - 2 years of experience with claims systems (can be concurrent). Requirements - In-depth knowledge of claims payment policies and refund policies. - Knowledge of related claims software systems. - Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT IV coding, ICD 9 diagnosis codes, or NCPDP coding as appropriate. - Good analytical skills and the ability to retrieve and research automated reports. - Good time management skills and adaptable to change. - Good communication skills, both written and verbal. - Standard office equipment. Role Description The Research Finance Specialist is an active member of the Mass General Brigham Central Research Management office and is one of the primary points of contact for Principal Investigators (PIs) and Department Administrators at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and other institutions within Mass General Brigham. The Finance Specialist is committed to identifying and adhering to best practices in grants and contracts administration while upholding the highest standards of integrity and fiduciary responsibility. The Finance Specialist I will proactively address the demands of research grant administration by providing exceptional customer service to Mass General Brigham’s distinguished research community and collaborators in their pioneering efforts in science and medicine. With guidance from his/her manager and team members, the Finance Specialist I actively manages the subcontract payments related activity of the grants. As a primary contact for departments and outside collaborators, the Finance Specialist facilitates the process of subcontract invoice distribution, coding, approvals, payments, and inquiries. This position is also a key member of the team who provides considerable support to the fiscal administration of a variety of grants and contracts from federal and non-federal sponsoring agencies.
