• Develop and execute on joint strategy with your direct salesperson which is tied to your partners and Fortinet Goals. • Support your partners in various ways such as though POCs, for internal consumption or managed offerings, develop labs for technical enablement, custom presentations, etc. • Be onsite with your partners to develop relationships across your partners internal business units. • Be the primary technical point of contact for your partners(s) in close collaboration with your sales partner. • Collectively work with Fortinet’s teams (account sales/ technical, marketing, specialization overlays) + your partners teams (sales/ technical/ professional services, managed services, etc) to develop “go to market” offerings to address Fortinet and our partners goals. • Continuously strive to improve knowledge around the Fortinet products and solutions, along with maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and Fortinet’s ability to provide long lasting protection against the ever-evolving threats. • Have a strong ability to position Fortinet solutions to the partner, whether this be remotely or in person. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to confidently present through whiteboarding, technical white papers, technical plans, or customer discussions. • Manage your time effectively when working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring a positive customer experience is maintained. • Maintain accurate activity, contact, and account technical information of all customers and prospects in our CRM (Salesforce).
Job Requirements
- 3 – 8 years’ experience in technical/pre-sales support as a pre-sales or security expert
- Experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration
- Ability to design network and security solutions, effectively utilize Visio, ability to create BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Stateful Firewalling, NGFW, Firewall policies, Identity based policies, NAT, IPS, AntiMalware, Botnet, Application Control, DDoS, Web Filtering, SDN
- Strong understanding in the following technologies and protocols: TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, supernetting and subnetting, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, RADIUS, LDAP, Active Directory, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, SSL Decryption, SSL VPN, IPSEC, 802.1Q, VLANs, LACP, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, SHA512, 3DES, AES
- Experience with encryption and authentication technologies required
- Strong hands-on configuring and troubleshooting network and security solutions highly desired
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong communication and writing skills. Previous experience on responding to RFPs is beneficial.
- White board skills are beneficial.
- Technical knowledge in Wifi, Load Balancing and Application Delivery, Ethernet Switching, ACI, API, Two Factor Auth, Malware Sandboxes, Mail Gateways, Web Application Firewalling, Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc), SDN, NFV, Virtualization, Centralized Management, SIEM, and Data Center redundancy are considered assets
- Previous Pre-sales experience with a Vendor or Reseller is an asset
- Strong Knowledge and hand-on experience in one more of the following: Zero Trust, Network Security, endpoint security, SASE, SD-WAN, NG-SOC (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, ESM, etc), or Cloud Security is an asset.
- Someone who enjoys learning, isn’t afraid to research online or dive into technical documentation and feels empowered to explore—backed by a team that will support them and provide training every step of the way.
