Role Description BookNook is seeking talented USA based math tutors seeking to work from home! - Support school districts across the United States with consistent, recurring weekly sessions. - Enjoy a supportive community and the BookNook virtual classroom. - No lesson content prep and planning required. - Make a direct, positive impact on students by walking alongside them on their learning journey. - Availability often includes at least one hour Monday to Thursday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET. Position Specifics: - Subject: Math with provided lesson content and practice extension materials. - Students: Across the USA, grades K to 8 (choose your grade levels to tutor). - Type: 1099-eligible independent contractor. - Schedule: Follows the school year, September to May, most often 30 minute sessions. - Pay Rate: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) with opportunities for incentive payments. - Total Flexibility: Enjoy ultimate control over your schedule without weekly hours claimed requirements. - Schedule Consistency: Attend at least 80% of sessions claimed to provide students stable support. - Maximize Your Bookings: Peak student demand falls between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET. - Life Happens: If unable to attend a claimed session, drop it on your calendar, and a peer can claim it. Qualifications - Experience: Classroom teacher, EL/ESL/ELL, tutoring, coaching, or similar student support. - Online instruction experience with a college degree preferred. - Tutoring Focus: Deliver pre-designed, best-practice math lessons to provide targeted support. - Rapport: Ability to build meaningful professional connections with students. - Technology: A computer (laptop or desktop), webcam, distraction-free environment, reliable high-speed internet (at least 20 mbps). - Location: Reside in and tutor from one of the specified states or Washington, DC. Requirements - Availability to tutor most weekdays at least one hour between 4 PM to 7 PM ET. - Conduct all sessions from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC.
