Software Engineering Expert
Weekday (YC W21)
This role is for one of our clients Compensation: $50-$150 per hour We are seeking experienced Software Engineering professionals to contribute to high-impact research collaborations with leading AI laboratories. In this role, you will help enhance AI systems by working on code validation, prompt refinement, algorithm evaluation, and model benchmarking initiatives. This opportunity allows you to apply your engineering expertise toward advancing the next generation of intelligent systems while working in a flexible, project-based environment.
Job Requirements
- Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine AI-generated prompts, technical responses, and code outputs
- Validate algorithms and software concepts for technical accuracy and logical soundness
- Provide structured, actionable feedback on solution quality, efficiency, and clarity
- Tag, categorize, and organize content by subject area, complexity, or programming language
- Support benchmarking and evaluation efforts to measure and improve model capabilities
- Contribute to improving overall technical rigor in AI-generated outputs
- Ideal Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, technical research, or technical content development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- Strong proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, or other widely used programming languages
- Experience debugging, testing, and validating production-level code
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Comfortable articulating technical feedback in clear, structured written form
- Project Details
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: 1–2 months
- Commitment: Part-time (15–25 hours per week, with flexibility up to 40 hours per week)
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling

- Contract & Payment Terms
- Engagement will be structured as an independent contractor agreement
- This is a fully remote role with flexible working hours
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on performance and business requirements
- Assignments will not require access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
- Payments are processed weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
- Visa sponsorship is not available; H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported at this time
