Director, People Operations
Collectors
Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team. Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France. As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on-site interview as part of the final stages of the process. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have. We’re looking for a Director, People Operations to join our People team and serve as the operational backbone that enables our HR function to support more than 3,000 employees across a global, multi-brand organization. In this role, you’ll architect the systems, processes, and infrastructure that power every stage of the employee experience—from onboarding through offboarding and everything in between. You’ll partner closely with leaders across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance, and Legal to build scalable, compliant, and data-driven people operations as we continue to grow. This is a high-impact role on a collaborative People team that is modernizing HR at the speed of our business. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Remote, hybrid and in-office candidates will be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration, and if you live within a 1-hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be expected to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process. What You’ll Do - Lead and grow a high-performing People Operations team, overseeing HR compliance, workforce changes, employee data integrity, and end-to-end employee lifecycle processes across a geographically distributed, multi-brand workforce. - Establish and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, and process documentation to create clarity and consistency for employees and managers company-wide. - Drive HR compliance across all U.S. states and international jurisdictions, staying ahead of regulatory changes, employment law updates, and audit requirements to protect the company and create a fair, consistent employee experience. - Identify and eliminate operational friction; drive automation where it creates real leverage. - Partner with Finance and HRIS teams on headcount planning, executive reporting, and other high-stakes projects. - Serve as a trusted operational partner to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent & Org Development, Internal Communications, Employee Relations, and the broader People leadership team. - Lead People Operations contributions to M&A integrations, including due diligence, integration planning, and onboarding of acquired employee populations across our brands. - Build and maintain a strong vendor ecosystem for HR technology, benefits administration, and compliance tools, ensuring we’re leveraging best-in-class solutions as we scale. - Build and evolve scalable global processes that add efficiency and accuracy. - Lead project and program management across the employee lifecycle, ensuring initiatives land consistently across brands, geographies, and teams. Key programs include but are not limited to onboarding, global mobility and immigration, international expansion, talent acquisition operations, offboarding, and other key project priorities. Who You Are - 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years leading a People Operations or HR Operations function at a mid-to-large company; experience in high-growth or multi-brand environments and with various worker types (exempt vs. non-exempt, contingent, etc.). - Proven track record of building scalable HR processes and infrastructure in complex, multi-state or global settings, with a focus on consistency, compliance, and the employee experience. - Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance across multiple states; experience with international HR is a plus. - Highly analytical and data-fluent: you can dive into the data to understand how things are working and where they can be improved. - Experience with M&A integrations, including HR due diligence and the people-side of change management across acquired entities. - Familiarity with operations-heavy, hourly/production workforce environments alongside a professional/corporate employee base is preferred. - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification is a plus. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $163,000 - $267,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set. This role will also be eligible for bonuses and equity; please ask your recruiter for details. Reasons to Join Us - Health Insurance: All full-time employees are eligible to enroll in Medical, Dental, and Vision. - Additional Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for fertility, commuter, and educational assistance benefits. - 401(k) Matching Plan: We are proud to offer a competitive 401(k) matching plan to support your future financial goals. - Vacation: All salaried employees are eligible for flexible time-off. - Holiday Pay: All regular, full-time employees are eligible for ten company-paid holidays. - Employee Discounts: Employees receive discounts on select grading services for approved submissions. - Flexible Hours: Many of our teams offer flexible schedules and will work with you to accommodate your needs. - Fun Working Environment: Our team members are invited to participate in celebrations, holiday events, and team building activities.
