Role Description We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer III to support a large-scale cloud modernization initiative. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure while supporting automation, compliance, disaster recovery, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, infrastructure automation, cloud security, networking, and CI/CD pipelines. This role is fully remote; however, candidates located on the East Coast are strongly preferred to support team collaboration and client engagement. Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. - Configure and support cloud networking, connectivity, and hybrid environments. - Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or OpenTofu. - Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Azure integrations. - Administer Active Directory, user access controls, and role-based access management (RBAC). - Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. - Configure and maintain firewalls and secure cloud-to-on-premises connectivity. - Ensure encryption standards are implemented for data at rest and in transit. - Support security compliance initiatives, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and audit requirements. - Collaborate with development and operations teams to support containerized applications and infrastructure deployments. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role. - Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture. - Experience with Azure networking and network integrations. - Hands-on experience with Active Directory and RBAC administration. - Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. - Proficiency with Terraform and/or OpenTofu. - Experience with Docker and containerization technologies. - Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption, and compliance frameworks. - Experience configuring firewalls and managing cloud/on-premises network connectivity. - Experience supporting security documentation and compliance efforts, including SSPs. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Azure ExpressRoute. - Experience supporting government or highly regulated environments. - Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and implementation. - Security certifications or cloud certifications are a plus. We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Engineer with experience using several open source projects commonly found in large scale deployments.
