What You’ll Be Doing in the Role - Proficient with using SQL for writing complex queries, joins, aggregations, and subqueries. - Python programming skills are highly desirable for advanced data analysis, statistical modeling, and automation tasks. - Understanding relational database structures and optimization techniques is required. - Deep knowledge of principles pertaining to data warehousing, data lakes, Lakehouses, data marts, and other data stores specialized for analytics and reporting is crucial. - Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and VBA scripting for efficient data analysis, reporting, and decision support. - Skilled in data cleaning and transformation, including handling missing values, normalizing datasets, addressing outliers, and converting raw or unstructured data into usable formats using tools such as Python, SQL, and Excel. - Proficient in data profiling and statistical analysis, with a solid understanding of both descriptive and inferential statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, correlation, variance analysis, and statistical significance testing for accurate data interpretation. - Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipelines, including data flow from source to destination and the impact of data transformations on analysis. - Strong ability in data visualization and storytelling, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI or Tableau. - Experience building and maintaining interactive dashboards for monitoring business metrics in near real-time. - Must employ an AI-first approach, leveraging AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to enhance analysis, automate routine tasks, and improve efficiency. - Should be familiar with business fundamentals and be able to align data interpretations with business objectives, KPIs, and stakeholder goals to deliver actionable recommendations. - Awareness of data privacy requirements, data lineage, and quality assurance processes is important. - Experience with Git or similar tools for maintaining version history of scripts and collaborating with data teams is important. - Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
